The tram is a new series of street-photography whereby I want to capture people's expression when they know the're being photographed - it's a bit like saying 'who are you staring at?' but I also want to capture people when they are not aware of the camera as I hope to find a story within their thoughts, sitting on a train, a bus, a tram or just waiting on the street.

As a photographer, professional or not - remember not to forget the element of surprise when taking pictures in the street. It's all legal, shooting people, buildings - even the grafitti, whether considered street art or not. Your free to shoot, but just respect people at all times that's all - you can't go wrong. In principle grafitti is illegal (unless it's authorised, though remember hardly any of it ever is) Copyright only applies if it actually is and that's the point - most isn't, so let...

Smartphones have opened up the world to everyone to snap away and take pictures. I have to admit I'm not really a phone-picture-taker nor for that matter am I part of the growing band of street photographers. That said I like taking pictures, so the street or rather the outside presents a great resource. Last month whilst visiting Singapore I managed to catch this guy working in the heat and humidity cooking in one of the many street food markets. He was in a haze of steam and I just snapped...
